ExperienceFirst is about sharing our local neighborhoods in a way we would with family and friends. It’s about stories told from the perspective of people who live them day-to-day, exploring unexpected places with a local to lead the way.
We have engaged storytellers with lived experience of the places and activities they lead. Wall Street with a trader. Hollywood with an actor. The Eiffel Tower with a Parisian. That’s where you come in. As part of our guide network, we recognise you come from a diverse range of backgrounds - professional comedians, singers, directors, lawyers, investors, educators - and encourage you to bring your own unique experiences and stories to our team.
You, our guides, bring the brand to life. Because of you we are able to deliver engaging and memorable experiences to travelers all over the world. From all the staff at ExperienceFirst, we say thank you.
ExperienceFirst was born in 2008 out of the financial crash by our founder Andrew Luan, an ex Wall Street banker who was able to build the business by offering tours of New York’s financial district offering insight into the global financial downturn. Andrew was inspired by offering a more authentic, educational and engaging tour of the financial district, seeing an opportunity to help people understand such an important world event.
From there the business has grown from strength to strength, conquering New York and now operating across North America & Europe with over 350,000 passengers annually. The business bounced back strongly from the global COVID-19 pandemic and in 2023 started a journey to double in size, with an ambition to create 1 million smiles (passengers) by 2025.
Our guests include people from all over the world, from every demographic. Our brand appeals to those who want an authentic view of the destination to which they travel. Our guests are predominantly from America, often travelling with families. Our main demographics include:
American families, so expect children on the tours you lead! Anything you can do to include them the adventure will be appreciated.
Older adventurers, those seeking travel in their later years, often having saved and dreamed of this trip for a long time. While we make it clear that the object of most of our product is walking tours, patience is appreciated to support any mobility challenges.
Young solo travellers, who often book a walking tour to get the ‘lay of the land’ before venturing out on their own. These travellers will love engaging stories, off the beaten track places and local recommendations.
Our Purpose and Values sit at the core of what we do. Our Purpose is to create lasting memories with every visit.
The way we do this is by keeping our Values front and center of our decisions and interactions. This counts for everyone, from our Founder, to our operations teams and on road guides. We specifically look for these values when we recruit, so we already think you’ll be a good fit!
We encourage you to share your own experiences and stories, and equally let us know if you feel we are falling short of these values. They only work if we actually keep them alive in our day-to-day.
