Company
After playing baseball, basketball, and working as a delivery driver, Herman bought a chip maker, Barret Food Products, that wasn't doing very well. He bought Barret Food Products for $60,000 and renamed it H.W. Lay & Company. Lay always made sure his drivers were stocking the stores shelf to be sure of there being no stale chip bags. Within the first 5 years the company hit $2,000,000 in sales. Herman Lay was very hands on with his company... probably the success to his company.
Pepsi-co
Frito-Lay Inc. was created in 1961 after the merging of H.W. lay & Company and the Frito COmpany. This merge brought along the well known Pepsi-Co... From Herman selling peanuts and pepsi-cola at baseball games, to now selling many food product in stores across 150 different countries. Herman later died in dallas in 1982 due to cancer.
