The Mayfly Project is a national non-profit organization that is active in over 30 states and has served approximately 1,000 kids in foster care.
The Mayfly Project is a 501(c)(3) organization that uses fly fishing as a catalyst to mentor children in foster care. Our mission is to support children in foster care through fly fishing and introduce them to their local water ecosystems, with the hope that connecting them to a rewarding hobby will provide an opportunity for foster children to have fun, feel supported, and develop a meaningful connection with the outdoors.
Special Note: We open registration up in the spring for all Idaho projects (Coeur'd Alene/Sandpoint, Boise, and Idaho Falls)

The Regional Early Childhood Committees serve a variety of functions to support all families of young children, particularly those with delays or disabilities or those at-risk. As a support to the Infant Toddler Program, one of our primary functions is to reach out to families (biological, foster, relative care, etc.) who may benefit from the program.
Our mission is:
Advise and assist the Idaho Infant Toddler Program in the implementation of the early intervention system
Provide information on early childhood development
Coordinate and collaborate with community partners to support at-risk young children and children with delays or disabilities

The COVID Help Now Line provides a warmly staffed hotline with trained representatives that can help walk people through challenges they may be facing. Calls can be made for emotional/stress support, resource navigation, coping skills, and more (challenges don't have to be COVID related, anyone can call for this anonymous assistance). Local Idaho Strong representatives are placed regionally throughout the state through IDHW to provide local support. Local support includes providing support and psychoeducational groups, establishing pen pal programs between senior serving organization and youth, offering assistance to service providing organizations, hosting community educational events, working directly with community members, and other work that is designed to support all Idahoans during these difficult times.
People can call/text the COVID Help Now Line at (986) 867-1073 or call Toll Free (866) 947-5186 to speak to a representative. COVID Help Now Line is staffed from 8am to 8pm Mountain Time, 7 days a week. Callers may also leave a message during off-hours and receive a return call the following day. People can also directly reach out to the regional staff for support.

Idaho Wednesday’s Child is a specialized recruitment program committed to decreasing the number of young people who ‘age out’ of foster care. We use media recruitment to help waiting foster youth find Forever Homes. Families can inquire on a youth's profile on our website if they think they can provide that specific youth with the home they need!
