Siobhan Araya, Director of Career & Technical Education, is in her second year leading Everett High School’s Chapter 74 programs — a role she stepped into after building the school’s Marketing pathway from the ground up. She now oversees eight CTE programs, the entire Exploratory experience for all freshmen, 19 staff, nearly 1,000 students, state and federal reporting, Perkins grant management, industry partnerships, and the long-term expansion of CTE programs in Everett.
Before becoming Director, Siobhan spent five years as a Marketing Instructor at EHS, where she developed the full curriculum, launched internship opportunities and industry partnerships, and built a classroom culture alumni still talk about. Her career before education included work in digital communications, media strategy, and journalism — including producing digital content for Boston College and reporting for NECN as part of the Suffolk in the City news team.
An Everett High School Class of 2011 graduate, Siobhan earned her M.S. in Leadership and Administration with a concentration in Corporate Communication and Marketing from Boston College (where she was featured as a Student Success Story) and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Suffolk University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She’s also a 2025 Suffolk University 10 Under 10 Award recipient, earned the Bettylee M. Greenberg Scholarship for Public Speaking, and won Suffolk’s RAMMY Award for Best In-Depth Interview — along with being named Best Singer in her EHS senior class.
Siobhan holds Vocational Technical Supervisor/Director licensure, a Professional Vocational Technical Teaching license in Marketing, and multiple certifications in social media and digital marketing. Her work focuses on growing high-demand pathways, strengthening Program Advisory Committees, and ensuring every Everett student has access to rigorous, relevant, and equitable CTE experiences.
But titles aside, Siobhan’s favorite part of her job is the people.
She loves being the CTE Director because she gets to work with an incredible staff and connect with students across every program. Watching them step into their confidence — whether in a shop, a classroom, a co-op placement, or a senior capstone — is what keeps her energized. She’s committed to finding every possible way to stay student-facing and provide opportunities for CTE students they may not otherwise get.
Outside of work, Siobhan is happily married to her husband Joshua, a scientist at Moderna, and is mom to their daughter Eleanor. She loves spending time with family and friends, singing, playing piano, reading, baking, exploring museums, or catching a show at Boston's Symphony Hall. Siobhan is a huge fan of anime, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Disney, and movie scores and soundtracks.
Her life and leadership philosophy is simple: Love brought me here. Love will carry me through. Love does not end.
