Marketing Class of 2024
Current: Marketing major at UMass Amherst / Brand Ambassador at Aerie
"My CTE experience taught me the fundamentals of the information regarding my [current college] major. I feel as though I've started college with knowledge that sets me apart from my classmates.
"My favorite part of [the Marketing] CTE program has to be the relationships I made, not only with my peers, but my teachers as well. I've made bonds that will last me a lifetime.
"The most important piece of advice I could give is to take any opportunity given to you. The internships I completed through my time in the CTE program made my resume stand out because I'd had so much prior experience. The internship search in college is difficult, but any bit of experience can make a difference for you!"
"When you complete your CTE program, don't think you've reached your full potential. There's a whole world waiting for you outside of high school."
Marketing Class of 2024
Current: Marketing major at Suffolk University / Sales associate at Banana Republic Factory
"The marketing pathway at EHS truly prepared me for college and the courses I took. I was aware of knowledge that I was taught even from my sophomore year of high school! And professors were impressed with my presenting skills as a first-year college student!
"My favorite part of the Marketing CTE program was how we were supported with not only big projects, but also the small ones! Mrs. Araya was the best mentor, teacher, and friend! She was always there for us and gave us good advice and critiques.
"My best piece of advice is: don't take criticism to heart, but more so as a place for improvement! Wrapping up my first year of college it clicked in my brain that it’s okay to make mistakes now because I can improve on them, THIS IS THE PLACE TO MESS UP! It’s only going to make me a better candidate for when I’m done with my four years."
“What you’re not changing, you’re choosing.”
Marketing Class of 2024
Current: Illustration major & Creative Writing minor at Mass Art / Working at Art Lab Everett (seasonal)
"Taking Marketing has definitely prepared me for my creative endeavors! With Art Lab, we make a lot of social media posts using Canva so getting that experience in Marketing was super helpful. Another great thing about CTE was the opportunities we got for field trips like going to Patriot Place and Fanuiel Hall, seeing how different businesses work in real time is great to see as a creator because it helps me learn how I can promote my creations to an audience!
"My favorite part of marketing was the amount of creative freedom and community! I loved getting to create products and commercials, it’s something I probably wouldn’t have been able to do without the CTE program and I’m so happy I got this opportunity!
"My biggest piece of advice is work hard and play harder! Do you what makes you happy and have fun doing it, that’s how you’ll make the most of your CTE experience!"
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible.”
