Nancy Chaves, Health Assisting Instructor, is in her second year of teaching at Everett High School and brings 19 years of nursing experience to the classroom. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2023 and uses her clinical background to prepare students for real-world patient care.
Nancy enjoys sharing her knowledge with students and helping them build confidence in their skills. One of her favorite class projects is the dietary unit, where students research specialized diets and then design a full food-truck concept and menu based on their assigned needs—a creative way to connect clinical care with everyday life.
Her personal motto reflects her teaching philosophy: “Health assisting is the heartbeat of compassionate care—where every small act of kindness fuels healing and hope.”
Outside of school, Nancy loves reading and cooking. She has been married for 26 years and is the proud mom of 22-year-old twin sons—both Everett High graduates from the Class of 2021. She also adores her Cockapoo, Lily.
