Lucila Howard, Programming & Web Development Instructor, is in her third year of teaching at Everett High School. She holds a B.S. in Information Technology and an M.S. in Computer Science, and she previously worked in IT at a cybersecurity company, gaining industry experience she now brings directly into the classroom.
Lucila is passionate about teaching coding because she knows firsthand how challenging it can be to enter the tech world without early exposure—opportunities that barely existed when she was growing up. She loves watching her students gain confidence in their programming abilities and push their creativity to new levels. Her favorite project is the personal website assignment, where students design and build sites on topics that matter to them, often producing impressive and unique final products.
A proud Everett High alum, Lucila was a member of the school’s rowing team during her own time here. She encourages her students to put their best effort into everything they do, big or small, reminding them that hard work always pays off—even when it doesn’t feel significant in the moment.
