Cheryl Learned, Hospitality Management Instructor, brings more than 24 years of industry and teaching experience, including five years at the college level and eight years at Everett High School. She holds a B.A. in Organizational Psychology and an M.Ed. in College Student Personnel, and she was recognized as Teacher of the Year at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School in 2013.
Cheryl believes deeply in the power of the hospitality industry to launch meaningful careers. With tourism employing one in every ten workers around the world—and the majority of entry-level positions requiring no college degree—she is passionate about preparing students to step confidently into roles that can lead to supervisory positions within a year. She emphasizes the industry’s strong wages, structured training, and clear pathways for advancement.
Her favorite learning experience is guiding students through the process of running staff meetings and completing mock tasks, such as planning a full conference in the shop. Outside the classroom, Cheryl is fascinated by BCE archaeology and closely follows new discoveries in quantum physics and cosmology.
She lives by the motto: “Learn to seek and seek to learn.” And as she tells her students: if you need assistance, she’ll listen, truly hear you, and point you toward success—no matter the topic.
