For January 2021
For Distance learning your teacher can send you assignments via google classroom and speak/chat to the class via google meet.
Your parents need to have filled in this form: https://forms.gle/bVaYoR4cDgZifTmt6 and you and your parents have to agree to Code of Conduct For Video Conferencing:
1) Parents and students must not record images, video or audio of other participants, including the teacher
2) No inappropriate language or visuals can be used or displayed.
3) The Chat line must be used in a responsible way and as directed by the teacher.
Failure to follow this code will result in your child being banned temporarily or permanently depending on the severity of the breach.
For Google Classroom please go here.
Read below for instructions on how to use google meet for video-calls.
Click on the square with dots on the right top in your google account to access your google apps. You can either go directly to google meet, or access video calling via google hangouts.
Google meet: click on Join or start a meeting, then on Continue, then on Join now as per the images below. To Join a meeting, your teacher would have sent you a code. Enter the code.
When prompted you have to allow google to use your microphone and camera. Make sure you mute yourself though, or it will be cacophony for your teacher!
With "present now" at the bottom, you can show your screen or part of your screen to the class.
It is recommended to use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
If your connection is lagging, turn off your video stream and only listen in.
Extension Google Meet Grid view for Chrome is a good way to see all that are in a call at the same time. You can add it via tools-extensions to your Chrome Browser: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/meet%20grid
You are expected to check your google classrooms regularly. The easiest way to do this is via your "to do" list.
An overview of some other tools can be found here.
