Retail/ Catering Facilities
Onsite at Aston Cross Business Village, there is a restaurant and a sandwich bar with café and takeaway facilities.
There is also a separate retail shop and newsagents located adjacent. Both are on the right hand side as you enter the Business Village via the main entrance.
BonBon will also visit the office each day around 10.30am, offering a wide range of sandwiches, snacks and drinks and take both cash and card payments. A bell will be sounded when BonBon arrives on site to inform colleagues.
Kitchen Facilities and Breakout Areas
There are two kitchens available for colleagues to use, one on each floor. Each kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, sink, dishwasher and a water dispenser for our colleagues to use. The water dispenser has chilled, sparkling and boiling water options. All of these must be dispensed into a drinking container with a closed lid.
Please do not use the kitchen areas for meetings and do not congregate near the entrance to the kitchen as people are working nearby.
Tea, coffee, sugar, semi-skimmed milk and lidded cups will be provided for all colleagues and will be replenished regularly as part of the cleaning regime.
To ensure we keep our kitchens clean and presentable, we’ve created some kitchen etiquette guidelines that we expect all our colleagues to stick to when using the self-cleaning facilities:
Clean up after yourself. Wash all cutlery and crockery that you use in either the sink or place it in the dishwasher provided. Please do not leave any items on the draining board, they should be dried and put away.
Wipe work surfaces down before preparing food and drinks and after consuming.
Any spills on the floor need to be cleaned. A mop and bucket will be available for any large spills.
Do not carry tea, infusions or other part-brewed drinks out of the vinyl floored areas; remove tea bags etc. from cups whilst still in the kitchen area and place them in the waste bins provided.
Drinking cups without a lid must not be used. This will limit spill damage in the carpeted office areas. Please use the lidded cups provided.
Please put food scraps and used tea bags into the waste bins and not down the sink.
Please note that there must be NO organic (food) waste placed in general office waste bins, these must all be placed in the kitchen facility - this includes food items such as fruit cores or skins, partially consumed foods and tea bags or similar.
If the dishwasher is full, set the dishwasher to wash and when empty, unload the dishwasher where appropriate.
Wipe the microwave after use, ensuring any spillages are cleaned up.
Throw away or recycle any wrappers, containers or peelings.
Replenish where possible if you happen to use the last of the tea and coffee etc.
Only take in what you need - eat and drink what is yours and either consume or dispose of items in the fridge by the end of the day. The fridges may be emptied periodically and any out of date items may be thrown away.
Ensure you label any items that are left in the fridge.
Treat the shared kitchen as you would do your own, be courteous to others and respect hygiene rules.

ATS Cups
To help keep carpets, floors and desks stain-free, all colleagues will receive an ATS branded lidded-cup (as shown in the picture to the left). These cups are dishwasher safe and there'll be spares for visitors so that everyone can avoid spillages!
Eating and Drinking
Food and Drink
Eating and drinking is permitted at desks in accordance with the guidance below however, where possible, colleagues are encouraged to take a break away from their desk whilst on a break or at lunch using the designated break out areas.
Only snacks, sandwiches, salads and soups should be eaten at your desk and food that requires heating up, or fast food, should be eaten in the breakout areas provided. Colleagues that choose to eat at their desk should avoid foods that smell strongly e.g. onion, garlic, chilli, fish etc.
If you are sitting at your desk on a break, you should be aware that your colleagues may assume you are working. This means your break or lunch may be interrupted. If you are also eating in the close proximity to a colleague, you may wish to politely enquire with those sitting nearest to you whether they are happy for you to eat, as they may have an allergy - be particularly aware of foods that commonly cause allergic reactions such as nuts or nut related food products.
It is inevitable that fragments of food and drink may end up scattered across the desk and floor so we ask that you play your part in keeping your desk clean and respectable, ensuring any rubbish is disposed of in the waste bins provided and any cutlery or crockery is returned to the kitchen.
No disposable drinking cups will be provided for drinking water; this minimises waste and reduces cost. Please supply your own drinking container which must have a closed lid to minimise spills. Water is provided in the kitchen areas only.
