About the cluster

The Energy-Technical Innovation Cluster was established as a civic association in December 2013 by five founding members. In 2014, due to the new Civil Code's coming into force, it was transformed into an association, which at the beginning of 2015 reached 15 members.

Cluster goals

Increasing the competitiveness of cluster members through the implementation of joint projects, creating facilities for joint offering and promotion of cluster members' services and products, raising the professional level of cluster members, motivating members to start cooperating with scientific research institutions, promoting knowledge and information transfer among cluster members, providing quality advisory services to cluster members in obtaining support for research, innovation and other activities. The ambition of the Energy-Technical Innovation Cluster is to build a model innovative Smart Region in the Pardubice Region. This is done in cooperation with large global technology corporations with experience from Smart Cities projects such as Siemens (Germany), Schreder (Belgium) or CEZ and 02 IT Services. This initiative also involves small and medium-sized enterprises, the academic sphere (University of Pardubice) and relevant state administration organizations.

Products/services

The EKIS Advisory Center was established in Pardubice in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the EFEKT program to support energy savings and the use of renewable sources in the Czech Republic. The nationwide EKIS network is supported by this program to ensure public awareness and information in relation to energy savings and the use of renewable energy sources.

The multi-disciplinary Energy-Technical Innovation Cluster strategy is based on the general mission of such interconnections or groupings of companies from different disciplines (associated industries are also involved in terms of skills, technologies or joint inputs, as well as suppliers and buyers of companies, service organizations, state institutions, high and secondary schools, research institutes, science and technology parks and others). This mission is to work together to address similar issues, such as employee training, supply chain optimization, and collaboration with research and development capabilities. While participating companies compete with each other, engaging in a cluster can overcome many of their limitations and gain a competitive edge. Mutual collaboration and thoughtful use of partner resources bring economic savings and new opportunities for everyone involved.
