This session will cover the inception of the Good Life Ambassador Program, the rationale, and the impact it has on the community. The speaker will draw from her personal experiences in this position as a way to illustrate the need and the amount of positive impact it has on both the DD community and the general community.
Grace Blatt has been a Good Life Ambassador for the Cuyahoga Board of Developmental Disabilities since July of 2016. She advocates and promotes the acceptance, embracement and appreciation of people on the autism spectrum as well as all people with disabilities. Grace graduated from Cleveland State University with summa cum laude honors with a major in psychology and a minor in neuroscience. She is currently a second-year graduate student at Cleveland State University in the Psychological Science Master’s Degree program and hopes to ultimately obtain her PhD in adult development and aging neuroscience in order to research preventions and interventions for those with movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease. Grace has experienced many challenges and triumphs which she has learned from and can articulate the challenges and triumphs for other people on the autism spectrum and those with disabilities.
