Empowering Self Determination and Informed Decision Making
Self determination, control over decisions affecting one's life, is a civil right. Too often the focus is on IF people can make decisions and not on HOW we can provide opportunities and experiences to develop skills in self determination as well as WHAT we can do to support and empower people WHEN they are making decisions. Resources will be shared that are functional and practical.

Barb has worked with people with disabilities and families for 49 years in a variety of roles, including Speech Language Pathologist and Service Coordinator. Her passion to support and empower people is driven by her role as a sibling. Her focus is to assure that everyone and those they trust have information and support to make informed decisions about their lives.
