Multiagency Planning Leads to Improved Student Outcomes
** PRESENTING WITH MELISSA HASKINS-BERGER and VALARIE PARKER **
We will be presenting how we plan with multiple agencies that allow seamless transition to adult services. We will give examples of opportunities we have developed within our districts, communication with multiple agencies, and how this planning improves outcomes for students
I began my education career in 2004 at Strongsville City Schools, working with students with mild to intensive disabilities in both special education classrooms and co-taught settings. For the past 13 years, I have been the Transition Coordinator in Strongsville working with students, staff, and parents to provide support, education, programming and opportunities to improve student outcomes. Additionally, I am the Special Education Department chair, a member of the PBIS tier 1 and tier 2 team, Building Leadership team, Unified Sports, and co-lead fundraising and selection of a scholarship for graduating seniors who have had special education services. I attended Cleveland State University and hold a bachelor's, Masters, and Education Specialist degree, licensed in Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Intensive special education with the Transition to Work endorsement.
