This course is designed for educators who are committed to learning about the connection between reading research, theoretical models such as the Simple View of Reading and Scarborough's Reading Rope, as well as best practices for language and literacy instruction in the classroom.
Participants will learn effective instructional practices that will benefit all students, including those with or at risk for language-based learning disabilities.

5 DAY SERIES: JUNE 10-13, JUNE 21 (MUST ATTEND ALL DATES)
8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Target Audience: K-12 teacher, a career tech certified teacher, a school counselor, principal, or curriculum developer
You will get hands-on experience visiting our partners in healthcare, information technology, and manufacturing. This externship will provide you with information about needs and expectations of the local business community, the jobs that are in demand for students, and will enable you to better prepare your students for successful careers.
During the externship, you'll interact with industry professionals and learn about cutting-edge technology and practices. You'll also have the opportunity to network with other educators and share your experiences and ideas.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the changing workplace, the skills your students will need, and how to prepare students to compete in a rapidly changing workplace!
Free Grad Credit:
Successful completion of the externship will earn participants 3 hours of graduate credit through Ashland University free of charge!

4 DAY EVENT - JUNE 11, AUGUST 14, DECEMBER 10, 2024 & MARCH 11, 2025 (MUST ATTEND ALL DATES)
arget Audience: School and District Administrators looking to further support teachers that are using LETRS within their classroom or as an alternative path to achieving Ohio's HB 33 Science of Reading training requirement for administrators.
LETRS for Administrators is a course of study that aims to help instructional leaders improve their school literacy structures and outcomes.
LETRS for Administrators helps literacy leaders:
Understand the importance of implementing a holistic literacy initiative.
Learn how to select literacy curricula and assessments.
Build empowered educators by giving them the support they need on their own LETRS journey.
Gain access to practical tools and guides to implement a successful and sustainable literacy initiative.
The research-based course complements LETRS, and guides state, district, or building leaders in implementing research-based, multi-tiered instruction. The course provides components to create a comprehensive implementation plan for a literacy initiative. It takes into consideration systems thinking, implementation science, change management, and leadership research.
This dynamic blended learning experience includes three components:

LETRS for Administrators Print Manual
LETRS for Administrators Unit Professional Learning Sessions (Live In-Person or Live Online)
