Hearing and Vision Screenings
"Within 45 calendar days after the child first attends the program... a program must either obtain or perform evidence-based vision and hearing screenings.".... HSSP 1302.42 (b) (2)
The Head Start Nurse assigned to your campus will schedule times with the teacher to conduct hearing and vision screenings for every Head Start child. The FSWA will notify parents of the screening dates and results. They will also follow up with parents to ensure appointments are scheduled if needed. You will receive information on the screenings for your records.
