I've Been Hired...What do I do next?
- Candidates must meet "Eligibility Requirements for Employment" in order to be placed on an intern certificate.
- Email toppstaff@esc20.net or a TOPP Consultant
- TOPP Staff will email an employment packet to teacher candidate.
- Teacher candidate must complete steps within employment packet.
- Time sensitive tasks are within the employment packet per TEA guidelines for licensure.
- TOPP Staff will email district HR office the Statement of Eligibility (SOE) document. District HR will complete SOE and return to TOPP Staff.
- Steps within the employment packet, will have teacher candidate apply and pay for intern certificate in their TEAL account (time sensitive task). https://tealprod.tea.state.tx.us/
- TOPP cannot recommend teacher candidate for intern certificate until application and payment is made in TEAL.

As a first-year teacher, you will begin a new journey with new learning and adjustment. Stay organized and focused. Make sure you a meeting deadlines. No doubt, you will feel overwhelmed.
Remember to reach out to TOPP Consultants should you feel like giving up. We are here for you. Sometimes the feeling of being overwhelmed may lead you to make hasty decisions. Do not resign a teaching position until you have talked with program staff.
