The 391 exam will open for testing on January 1, 2021. With the Science of Teaching Reading, the 391 exam will expand more time in each content section.

Candidates accepted after December 31, 2020 prepare for the (391) Core Subjects EC-6.

Candidates transferring from another EPP having the 291 exam passed must secure a teaching position by August 31, 2021, to complete requirements prior to the exam being phased out/expiring. The 291 will continue to provide early childhood literacy questions within the ELAR section.
