Dr. Anthony Boanada-Fuchs is a project manager and lecturer at the Institute of Management in Latin America of the University of St.Gallen. He obtained a Ph.D. at the Graduate Institute in Geneva and carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Sao Paulo, the University of Lausanne, the ETH Wohnform Zürich, and the Europainstitute in Basel. His teaching, research, and consultancy experience centers on development issues of the Global South. He is an expert on housing policies and the role of real estate markets in affordable housing. Anthony has co-edited the Global Review Series on Informality with Cities Alliance and is currently the coordinator of the N-AERUS network.
Financial Inclusion of the Bottom of the Pyramid: Cross-country comparison
The course provides an overview of practical examples of financial inclusions by focusing on the topics of subsidies and incentives, financial literacy, fintech, microfinance, credit guarantee schemes, and multi-sectoral partnerships. The geographic scope is global to unlock learning experiences. Each topic will be approached from a practical angle, by first assessing the challenge and learning from various approaches and initiatives to tackle them. Course participants are expected to carry out independent research (in groups) on a selected topic.
