April/May 2023

Primary 7Alpha have been very busy over the past two months. From our Lockerbie Residential trip, to visiting the People's Palace and our new context for learning.

Lockerbiresidential

Primary 7 Alpha and Primary 7 bravo had loads of fun when they went to Lockerbie Manor! They went for 4 nights and 5 days (20th March-25th March). During this time they did fun outdoor activities and stayed in dorms with 2-7 other people. Th outdoor activities included: High ropes, Zip wire, fencing (indoor), abseiling and blind trail!

The two classes made lots of new memories and friends!

This trip taught them independence, bravery and strengthened their friendships! They had bundles of joyful memories and enjoyed their time at Lockerbie Manor.

     Writing

In writing, we have been writing about Glasgow.. We have been learning how to report on different facts. We have also compared Glasgow to Egypt.

Reading

In reading, we have been learning to summarise the main ideas and identify the writer's theme.

Kapla

Kapla are wooden building blocks and we are so grateful that the school have supplied p7a and p7b with a big box of 1000 blocks!

What are we building?

In Kapla we have been building things such as our own designs for tenement flats, a miniature town, ships for the Navy & towers.

People's Palace

On Monday the 16th of May Primary 7 Alpha joined Primary 7 Bravo when they went to the People's Palace in Glasgow.  The two classes were merged and split into six groups with a teacher or a parent helper supervising them.  Three groups went into the museum first and the other three groups went outside to play in the Glasgow Green playpark. They all came together at lunchtime near the Glasgow Green playpark, after that they switched over. The Glasgow Green playpark had 4 slides and lots of other climbing frames. The People's Palace had lots of fascinating facts and models about Glasgow.
