The arctic and antarctic

P5/6 have been very busy learning about all things Polar regions. They have been working on research projects in pairs on topics of their choosing for weeks - hard at work looking up information, taking notes and creating their own books with all the information they've learned. The wealth of learning that has gone on is incredible and the books created are works we should all be truly proud of.

it's party time!

We danced, snacked, played and partied like there's no tomorrow! Party season is well under way and we had the best time.

PE

P5/6 have been busy learning some Scottish dances. We are now experts in the Canadian Barn dance, Virginia Reel and Military Two Step. We even had a go at creating our own ceilidh dances, putting our own spin on some of the dance moves that we'd learned.

THe grinch

P5/6 watched parts of the Grinch and had a debate about whether we thought he was essentially "good" or "bad". We also looked at the Grinch theme song lyrics and highlighted all the similes and metaphors. We used this to inspire our own Grinch poems!

Information handling

We have been learning to collect and display information. We've been creating a number of different surveys and displaying our information on Google Sheets. We learned how to use Sheets to label our axis, give our graph a title and an appropriate scale too.

Christmas Decorations!

We have some huge fans of Christmas in P5/6 so its no wonder we've been on a decorating frenzy. The class is looking very festive! Have a lovely Winter break everyone! See you all in the New Year!
