The Sponsored Silent Disco was AMAZING! Thank you to the Parent Council for organising.
It was meant to be silent but when I took my headphones off it was really noisy! It was really fun though. Summer
I liked that everybody was listening to different songs and it was funny because everyone was jumping up to different songs. Emily
I liked how everyone was just dancing and shouting out loud. Me and Fiona were just dancing silently and we couldn't hear them because we had our headphones on. Samaya
I loved the songs! Archie
Fiona has written a wonderful chapter book called The Cut. We really enjoyed listening to it!
It is about two little girls who have very different identities but are twins. I wrote it based on our writing competition during Maths Week Scotland. It has five chapters. Fiona
When we were writing, we learned how to write step by step instructions to make a paper aeroplane. We had to include bullet points and bossy verbs and we got to make some aeroplanes after we had finished our writing. Louisa
We are learning how to write instructions for how to build a paper aeroplane and we got to actually make a paper aeroplane. We used listening skills, describing skills and explaining skills. Logan
I enjoyed when we got to follow our instructions to make an aeroplane. Sebastian
I enjoyed making the paper aeroplanes but it was a bit tricky. I was looking at other peoples to try and figure out what to do. I managed to do it when I was reading my own instructions I just was not sure of a part. Emma R
For instruction writing we had 20 LEGO pieces to build a 'creation' and write the instructions. It took quite a bit of problem solving too!
In our writing we had to include; a title and subheadings, bullet points, imperative verbs, write chronologically and draw an illustration of our model.
We had lovely weather for our first Primary 5.1 walk to the library!
A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO OUR HELPERS.
I really enjoyed it and I got Bunny vs Monkey for my first time ever and I am reading it a lot and it is really fun. Lewis
I liked when we got to choose a book and when June was asking us questions about the Olympics. Lois
When we sat down and June asked us questions but also talked to us about the themes Mammoth Maths. Emme
Thank you to everyone who managed along on Tuesday to our open morning!
Rights Week
We have been learning about the ABCDE of Children's rights and designed eye catching posters to share our learning.
Thank you for reading your fabulous story to the class, Megan. We really enjoyed listening to it and especially the plot twist near the end.

The class are working collaboratively to achieve their goals demonstrating wonderful creativity and problem solving.
Keep up the great work! Ms Paton
Thank you Connor for reading a chapter of your book to us. Beautiful fluent reading and we loved the questions you asked at the end!
Keep up the great work. Ms Paton
We are developing our levels of fitness by practising, consolidating and refining our skills to improve performance.
It was fun making up the routines together and definitely see myself doing it on a summer or winter day. Islay
I really liked how we could be creative and perform it to the class. I liked receiving good feedback and things we can improve on. This means next time we can make it even better. Poppy
It was really fun trying to create an idea and I just enjoyed it because it was a way exercise but also have fun at the same time. It was fun working with Poppy and Islay. Eilidh
WEEK 2 of SOAR HIGH LEARNING
We looked at how mascots bring sporting communities together and made a slide show with information on Mascots of the Olympics and Paralympics. Jonah
We are researching Olympic mascots. The oldest mascot for summer Olympics was in 1972 called Waldi. and the oldest winter mascot was 1963 Shuss. Luke
Our big question is; How the Paralympics are supported by their community and aids. We were looking at sports in the Paralympics. We are researching prosthetic aids and we might make one. Sebastian
We wanted to learn about the Paralympic community as it is interesting and people compete with missing limbs. We are making a prosthetic leg and we are going to use the Great Britain flag to put on our racing track to represent our country. We figured out it is $10,000 to buy a prosthetic leg so we are going to try and make one that wont cost as much. We need to know what they put in the prosthetics that costs so much. Emma R
It is fun working together to come up with similar ideas about Communities and Citizenship. We have to problem solve to put our rings together and we are enjoying researching. Fiona
We decided that we would like to learn about Olympic communities in Japan and Egypt. Our focus has been gymnasts and how they live their life. Poppy
We have been using our computing skills to make our fact file. We are researching famous Egyptian and Japanese gymnasts looking at their diet and more. Islay
We are making comparisons between the summer and winter Olympics. We hope to find out more about the Paralympian community. We are building a race track with wheel chairs and people running and a ski slope with famous Paralympians. Summer
