Mandarin

Today we had our first Mandarin lesson.  

The children were interested and engaged.  

They are learning greetings, tone and also some things about our Mandarin Teacher, Shona.

P. E. Fielding and Striking - Speed Catching.

It was hard when we started but then as we worked at it we got better.  You had to use hand/eye coordination, communication and catching skills during this activity.  Sebastian

Speed catching was good and fun because you throw a tennis ball to your partner and step back after each throw and when you get to the cone you run back to the middle.  Every time you did it you count and if you drop the ball you go back to the middle.  Scott

It was hard at first, me and Emma kept dropping the ball and missing it but then in the middle we started getting a couple of points.  I will continue to work on my ball skills.  Charlotte

When Harris and I started we could only get 7 points but then we started we started to get more and more every round because we kept improving.  At the end we ended up with 31 points.  We were doing good throws and catching and out spacial awareness was good.  Luke

It was really fun.  We were learning about spacial awareness and movement and every round we kept on getting faster and a higher score because we were getting the hang of it.  Connor H

Caledonia Gladiators

I liked how it was female basketball because I had never watched female basketball before. There was a part where we had to shout DEFENCE and it was noisey.  We also got foam fingers. Summer

It was really, really good, it was loud and I like loud..  There was a lot of breaks, about 15.  At one point it got pretty tense, almost everytime I look we were 9 points behind and every time we almost caught up they scored again.  It was so fun! Poppy

We went to the basketball on Sunday, it was really fun because when we went all of us, me, Poppy and Emma were all there together but we could wave to the other side of the court to Summer.  It was funny because every time they shouted the defence our team would not get a point.  Emme

You start in a big hall where you can buy food, merch and stuff and then you go into the place where you watch the game and there is an introduction that tells you who the players are and you watch the game.  It was really fun.  Emma McL

British Sign Language

David visited our class today and shared interesting information about sign language.

It was fun to learn sign language and if you need to talk to a deaf person I can now talk to one with sign language.  Connor H

Sign language was fun because we were learning out favourite things in sign language.  Scott

We learned the alphabet.  It was fun learning it and I learned how to spell my name.  Samaya

I liked learning sign language.  We were all showing David how to spell Christmas in sign language and he said it was funny because we were doing 'cappuccino' for c.  Emma R

It was fun learning how to say cappuccino and how he David had an evil plan!  Lois

I thought it was fun as it was a bit like learning a  different language.  Probably my favourite words I learned were cinnamon bun!  Poppy

I enjoyed learning the sign language alphabet and I enjoyed learning my name and the evil plan was also fun!  Eilidh

It was fun learning how to do all of the alphabet in sign language.  Sebastian
