The HorseSportPro vaulting competition management system will be available in 2023 for system testing by competition managers. CompWeb will continue to be the main vaulting competition management system throughout 2023.
HorseSportPro will be the ONLY EVUSA vaulting competition management system in 2024.
Competition managers (CM) must use this year of system overlap to familiarize themselves with HSP and to identify any issues or show-stopping requirements BEFORE first running their events on the new system. EVUSA and its HSP contractors will not be able to support urgent system feature issues during competitions.
✔️ EVUSA/USEF scoresheets for recognized classes, for one and two judges, to be completed by February 2023
✔️ Scoresheets for additional unrecognized classes, targeting approx. 75% coverage of all classes offered by all Regions, completed by end of January
✔️ Testing and vetting with historical competition data in February
First test at Education Symposium session on January 21, 2023
✔️ Testing and vetting, retrospectively on small competitions in parallel with CompWeb in March May, June
✔️ September - EVUSA competition run entirely on HSP
ONGOING - Response to organizer feedback throughout the year - and through 2024
At HSP roll-out, it will only support up to 2 judges.
Recognized Classes will be able to support 3 or 4 judges in the 1st quarter of 2024.
HSP will only support EVUSA and USEF (not FEI) classes in 2023.
If testing and development goes smoothly, FEI competition support may be added in 2024.
It is recommended that every competition manager, after their competition, replicate it in HSP and test all aspects (setup and scoring) in order to verify whether it would have worked for them.
A "shadow competition" team of volunteers will be available to work with CMs on testing.
A team of volunteers will test the HSP system by replicating actual data from competitions that run this year. Contact hsp@equestrianvaulting.org to volunteer for this essential testing.

How will CompWeb registration information be ported into HSP for testing?
Manually. We’re not planning on building any sort of automated support to extract, transform and load CompWeb data to HSP. Building and debugging such automation would require too substantial / time-consuming / expensive effort.
Volunteers will manually re-type registration, class entry, and scoring information into HSP.
What about larger competitions? That's a massive amount of information to re-enter!
We’ll start with small, one-judge competitions to test all basic functions, then move to 2-judge competitions because that’s all HSP will support initially. Later in 2023, we'll add testing of scoring and score reporting for 3 and 4 judges (for Recognized classes only).
Another consideration for testing is that we don’t have to test every competitor from every competition. If two Golds’ scores are calculated correctly and the placing report places them correctly, we can have a lot of confidence that these aspects will work for the rest of the class.
How will conflicts in results between CompWeb and HSP be handled?
Initially, Jen Williams will handle bug reports to the HSP developers. Ideally, this testing process will develop a group of people who feel comfortable using the system. At that point we hope to begin distributing responsibilities for various system aspects.
