This is great for your learning because you will be able to retain more information and knowledge than if you didn't get them everyday! And if you retain more information and knowledge, you have a better chance of understanding the stuff you learn in every class. This will lead you to having great success at VB that you can build on in high school and beyond.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION (GYM)
To feed your body and your mind, you will get Gym every other day. "BLUES" - that's what you will be when you come to Vernon Barford - love to run, jump and play, and there are lots of different activities and sports you will get to experience in junior high. If you are interested in one or more particular sport, there are lots of school teams you can try out for!
FRENCH or SPANISH
French? Spanish? The choice is yours!
If you haven't taken Spanish before, you will learn along with the rest of your classmates. If you prefer French, because that is what you've taken all these years, that's OK too; grade 7 French will pick up where you left off in grade 6.
Please note: if you are considering Old Scona Academic (OSA) for high school, you need to choose French.

At Vernon Barford we want our students to be well-rounded and have opportunities to experience difference types of classes; after all, there is more to getting an education than math, social, science and L.A. Even though core subjects are central to what you will be learning at Vernon Barford, there are also opportunities for you to dabble in the culinary arts, stitch your way through Fashion Studies, build a masterpiece in Construction, create works of art, stage a scene or a play, or express yourself with an instrument in a band.
VB is equipped with three specialized CTF labs, where students can learn how to cook, sew and construct things with the proper tools. There is also an art studio, drama room - complete with a stage - and a tiered band room.
Complementary Courses - otherwise known as options - are classes that expose you to different things. You may get to experience one, some or all of the classes listed below.*
