Ross Sheppard Athletics offers multiple awards annually to our athletes. Listed below are the awards provided, and a descriptor for them.
We offer 3 levels of awards based upon a number of factors related to an athlete's 3 years in sport within the school. They go as follows:

Major Athletic Award with Distinction
With the help of some generous donors, we also offer these major awards, each with a financial bursary. Listed below are the awards and the criteria to be selected:
Awarded to one male and one female each in grade 10, grade 11, and grade 12 (6 awards total)
The best multi-sport athlete in their age group and gender that has demonstrated this through SHEP Athletics, as determined by their coaches
Awarded to one male and one female student, each in grade 12 (2 awards total)
A student with strong academic standing (honors), excellence in athletics through participation in two or more sports for two consecutive years, and good sportsmanship during athletic competitions
Awarded to one person each in grade 10, grade 11, and grade 12 (3 awards total)
A strong supporter of all things Ross Sheppard athletics. Someone who takes part in athletics and also exemplifies what it means to be a good citizen and Thunderbird. Examples include: taking part in a team(s), score-keeping, team manager or sports medicine trainer, volunteering, supporting other teams/programs
Awarded to one female in grade 10 (1 award total)
A grade 10 female athlete who demonstrates strong athletic ability on a basketball team, has strong academic standing, and is a good supporter of athletic endeavors.
Awarded to one person (1 award total)
A strong supporter of all things Ross Sheppard athletics. Someone who takes part in athletics and also exemplifies what it means to be a good citizen and Thunderbird. Examples include: taking part in a team(s), score-keeping, team manager or sports medicine trainer, volunteering, supporting other teams/programs
