Before enrolling a student in one of these courses, please ensure they are active in an appropriate opportunity.

*Students are eligible to have up to two course sections of Internship/Work Based Learning, earning a maximum of 1.0 credit per semester.

Hours accumulated from June 1 through the end of the first semester may be used toward the hour requirement for the fall semester.

International Virtual Internships

United Planet is a non-profit organization with a mission to create a global community, one relationship at a time. They connect volunteers and interns who want to make a difference with communities in more than 30 countries, where they learn, teach, work, engage and immerse themselves in a culture outside their comfort zone.

This organization is not affiliated with Epic Charter Schools and the cost of the program(s) is not school funded and student learning fund monies are not eligible.

Please click here to visit the United Planet website. Contact anita.manuel@epiccharterschools.org for potential no cost opportunities.

Growing Community Partners

The College & Career Readiness (CCR) team would love your help creating new local community partnerships. We work with various businesses throughout the year to help our students find internships, work-based learning opportunities, and more!

Do you know any organizations that may want to partner with Epic? Does an Epic family own a business, or is there someone within your network?

CCR will contact the organization; please send us their information using this short form: Community Partner Interest We’re looking forward to connecting with more partners across the state!

Internship Guidelines

Will it be an approved internship?

  • Will the experience in nature be meaningful? If so, how?

  • Does it align with the student's post high school goals/interests? If so, how?

  • Will it allow for the student to have a supervisor/mentor who can train, set expectations, and provide feedback?

  • Does the internship better prepare the student for a specific career/position after high school graduation? If so, what career or industry?

  • Will the student be able to complete a minimum of 60 hours of applied/hands-on experience through this internship?

If you can’t answer yes to all of the above questions, then it is likely not a good fit for an internship.

We encourage your student to think outside of the box, and we are happy to help brainstorm and collaborate with you. If you are unsure about internship approval, please contact Anita Manuel at anita.manuel@epiccharterschools.org.
