We all face difficult life circumstances, stressors or strong emotions at different times in our lives.
The elementary counselors have compiled these resource lists for you to access community based mental health providers and services. The listing does not constitute an endorsement, nor does the school or district claim any liability for services provided. We encourage parents to select services that best fit the family or child’s individual needs. The following questions may be considered:
1. What is our biggest concern? What skills does the counselor need to have to help us?
2. What counselor gender, age, and style fits my family?
3. Who accepts my family insurance? What will the service cost?
4. Where is the best location? Close to home for convenience or at some distance for more privacy?
If you have any questions, please contact your child's school counselor.
Referral lists
There are four different referral lists
Community Agencies - have many therapists on staff and offer a wide range of services.
Private Practice - therapists that have their own practice or part of a smaller practice. Often bill insurance or take direct payment.
Psychiatrists - are able to prescribe medicine
Crisis and Other Resources - includes agencies or programs that address specific issues or aid in times of crisis.
