My name is Jessica Kelly and I have been the school counselor at Westwood Elementary School since 2015. I earned my Master of Education in School Counseling degree from Seattle Pacific University and my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in history from Pacific Lutheran University. After exploring my career options, I decided to become a school counselor because I wanted to help children learn healthy coping and emotional regulation strategies that they can use in elementary school and beyond. I personally had a wonderful K-12 school experience growing up and I enjoy being part of a team that similarly creates a positive school climate where all students feel welcomed and inspired. Here are some hobbies I enjoy outside of work:
This is a picture of my husband and I in Reykjavik, Iceland. I love learning about other cultures and exploring new places. Other places I have been include France, Ireland, England, Scotland, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
This picture was taken at a Crossfit event. I have participated in one strength lifting competition and other just-for-fun workout events. Additionally, I did a Tinkerbell Half Marathon and completed a Spartan Race Trifecta.
This picture was taken at Sparks Lake in Oregon. Being on the water makes me feel calm and happy!
