Derek Tulluck is the school counselor at Black Diamond Elementary! He is a National Board Certified Teacher and completed his M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from City University of Seattle, and his BA in Linguistics from Western Washington University. Derek is passionate about incorporating play-based learning strategies and loves using LEGO® materials in his work as a school counselor. He is the author of Brick-Based Counseling 1 and 2, and also teaches a variety of courses at City University of Seattle in the Professional School Counseling graduate degree program. Outside of school counseling, Derek enjoys traveling, cooking, chess, and learning Japanese. Derek lives in Enumclaw, WA with his wife Aya and their 2 children, Walter and Eliana, and dog Chai!
