The project will move forward with the linear actuator concept based on successful tests and the final linear actuator will be purchased.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Testing of linear actuator concept was completed.
Temperature data of the original horn and plate components has been obtained by the data logger to be compared to the redesigned part.

A design proposal presentation was given to our class, instructor Dr. Ghazinejad, and TA Rishabh Khanna on 5/7/2020 via Zoom. The comments were:
Perform a transient heat transfer analysis on the heating element and horns.
If using a standard DC motor, ensure that it is able to withstand millions of cycles.

The Gantt chart was last updated on 5/3/2020 and is currently up to date.
The upcoming goal set for 5/13/2020 is to physically build the redesigned frame of the entire heat staking machine.
