Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
The first priority is always combining the guiding stylet with the Laryngotracheal into a single device made of bendable material to increase efficiency during the intubation procedure. Worries about the retraction later.
Dimension are listed on the bag of existing parts.
Both design should be test for consideration
Notice the possible reaction between the stylet and medication
No need to apply every drop of the anesthesia but most of them.
The index code for the budget form will be sent to us by email later.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Bring physical parts on weekly meeting
Material choice consideration: stainless steel 301, and stainless steel 316, look for other option. (Injection mold plastic)
Individual component analysis assigned: 1. Material for stylet (David). 2. Spray delivery systems (Jiahao). 3. Anesthesia, including precision, physical properties, and how it will fit onto the tube (Daniel). 4.Luers lock mechanism (Ascher)
For presentation, image can be hand drawn but should be color coded for clear introduction. A step-by-step approach should be utilized on introducing the intubation procedure with existing design and optimized design.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Frictions between the L-tube and E-tube, and the friction between the stylet and L-tube.
Angle of the tip at certain degree allows to feel the vocal cord
Shearing strength of the material
Abrasion with intubating tube
The maximum radius of bending
Softness of the material for protecting soft fragiles
