Accomplishments from Previous Week

• • Skinfold:

    • First draft of 3D printed muscle.

    • CAD skin fold collar that includes the cast such that it doesn’t need to be removed. 

  • Pressure delivery:

    • ordered & received three pumps to compare and test

    • Tested first pump (a cheap and easy to find aquarium pump); preliminary results are encouraging

    • System appears to give results that would provide good feedback to surgeons.

  • Writing select sections from report and incorporating feedback. 

  • Got access to workspace

  • Pressure Delivery:

    • List out points for comparison for the pumps; what are we looking for, etc. (Yichen)

    • Get ¾" ID tubing for secure connection to pump #1 (Guinevere)

    • Conduct test of all three pumps and select one for our design (Yichen, Samantha, & Guinevere)

• • Big changes from skinfold team:

    • We had initially thought that George’s mold was perfect, but that was not true. It was only “perfect” in the sense that it was consistent (material wise). 

    • Directed to focus on muscle 

    • Meeting next week to update on results and potential have surgeons test muscle.

    • Updated that we have purchased pumps and are currently testing them.

Schedule

• • We are planning on combining the efforts of the two subteams starting week 5&6 into our first iteration of the whole design. Both teams will continue to improve their subcomponents, while keeping track of the overall simulation and ensuring compatibility.
