Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
All the hardware components installed
Galvo mirrors ready to work
Laser alignment to find (0,0) of galvo mirrors
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Proof of concept presentation and first draft of the final report.
All the hardware components have been mounted and cables for galvo mirrors were connected to power supply and deck.
Finished laser alignment on the galvo mounting cage to find (0,0) position of galvo mirrors.
Finished low-speed cameras tracking and setting up DAQ code.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Align the galvo with the lens and the center of the arena. (Mingcong and Zizhao)
Research about the lighting condition for the experiment. (Mingcong and Zizhao)
finish converting from Cartesian coordinate to galvo coordinate and send the signals to DAQ (Data acquisition) (Keren)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Should be more active contacting sponsors. Because sponsors have multiple tasks to work on, we should be contact sponsors more frequently. (02/10/2020, In person)
Should think more about future design instead of just a tracker. e.g: Lighting condition (02/10/2020, In person)
Should be more careful about orientation of galvo, because the orientation of our CAD seems incorrect. (In person)
Action: We adjust the orientation of our CAD and the final assembly is correct.
We will email and Cc our sponsors for every progress we make in the future. And will be more active asking for instructions.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Too many sentences on the slides. We were supposed to use bullets in the slides and also the final report. (02/04/2020, in person)
All figures must have a reference. All figures need a figure number, caption, and must be addressed in main body text.(02/09/202, email)
Abstracts should include important design choices, quantitative prototype performance results. (02/09/202, email)
Theoretical predictions should include calculations of the test results or predicted test results. (02/09/202, email)
Actions:
In-group discussion about the next presentation: make slides clearer and less details.
Edition on the report according to the feedback.
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Slides were a bit wordy and hard too understand. Too many details. (02/04/2020, email)
Should look more at audience when speaking. (02/04/2020, email)
Put some pauses between sentences or important information. Don't need to present too much specific numbers in analytical.(02/04/2020, email)
Risks and Areas of Concern
None.
Resources or Information Required but not Available

Schedule
Milestone for hardware: Measure the offset voltage for the galvo system. Aligned galvo system with the high speed cameras. Record some images with high speed camera and adjust parameters.
Update Gantt chart.
