Overview of the Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

• • Met with sponsor on Tuesday, January 14th to recap progress from last quarter

  • Simulation analysis conducted on waistband seal and O-ring buckling

  • Component options explored for making reinforcement O-rings

  • Installed weight display.

Accomplishments from Previous Week

• • Chamber buckling scale model and FEA analysis completed

  • Determined potential design solution(s) to chamber buckling: internal reinforcement rings and/or cables between rings

  • Completed FEA Analysis for pressure leakage and air flow through waistband

  • Researched fabrication methods for internal ring support (final design stainless steel tubing)

• • Implementation of design decision into the current design prototype as risk reduction has mostly concluded.
