Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Met with sponsor on Tuesday, January 7th to recap progress from last quarter
Initial failure mode analysis and preliminary design changes completed for chamber buckling problem
Discussed primary design and ruled out bulky options.
Obtained additional resources for design reference and consulting(Dr. James Friend)
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Chamber buckling scale model and FEA analysis completed
Determined potential design solution(s) to chamber buckling: internal reinforcement rings and/or cables between rings
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Discuss and identify best route for chamber reinforcement (internal rings, cables, or both) (ALL)
Look for off-the-shelf hoops for internal reinforcement (Jennifer)
Look into self-fabricating internal reinforcement rings(Jackie)
Test cable solution on prototype (ALL )
Meet with Ian and secure project space (Brian)
Look into different weight scale options, for better cable routing (Geoffrey)

Risks and Areas of Concern
How to approach solving multiple problem areas - we are working on an existing prototype which has a few different problems. How should we distribute workload? Should we all tackle each problem one at a time together, or split them between team members and work on them simultaneously?
Multiple members have problems accessing the internal team organization page linked from MAE156B website. Is that a seperate site from the tab on the team webpage?
