Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Load Cell Design was tested and determined to not be adequate.
Unable to eliminate friction from the ball holder to allow for an accurate design
Tolerance for load cell seemed to be too high for our needs.
Did not want to go through with this tolerance and discover that this tolerance was inadequate.
New test to determine optimal force and depth was determined.
Scale would measure when bit begins to apply force to the dimple.
Buff bit out at this height
Determine how outside the tolerance these buffed dimples are
Adjust the depth of the bit to be within the tolerance
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Design of experiment created to determine the optimal bit, force, and depth were determined.
Ball Holder and Extensions to raise the CNC machine are being 3D printed.
Load cell was determined not to work and scale was determined to work.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Measure when contact occurs between the bit and dimple using scale and give balls to Callaway for Analysis (Marshall and Rohan)
When data comes back from Callaway, run design of experiment to determine optimal force, depth, and bit (Jacen and Aaron)
