Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
CAD of the custom bits completed.
CAD of Gear Train System in Progress
Design for Ball Holder has not been decided on
CNC Machine ordered
Accomplishments from Previous Week
CNC machine has been ordered
Settled on a final design involving a 6 probe drill bit system
CNC machine will be used
6 probe gear train system will be attached to the CNC machine
Probes will have bits at the end that will spin and will be angled in order to allow for all 6 flash on one pole to be polished at once.
Ball no longer needs to be rotated; instead, it will be held using a clamp in place.
CAD of custom bit has been completed
Chapter 1 of Report is completed
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Receive CNC machine and bring it to campus (Marshall)
Calibrate the CNC machine for the middle pentagon flash (Marshall/Aaron)
Finish Gear Train CAD (Jacen)
Design and CAD a ball clamp system for the CNC Machine

Risks and Areas of Concern
Will the gear train system work?
Instead of using probes to determine depth of dimple, can an average of dimple depth be taken and the end bits are lowered to that average depth for polishing?
Will 3D printing custom bits with metal be sufficient, or do custom bits need to be ordered.
Resources or Information Required but not Available
How polishing may affect the roughness of the golf ball dimple
