Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Design: We have re-confirmed the high priority design objectives with the sponsor, and we should be able to finalize the design now.
Fabrication: We will start the fabrication process this week.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Han Cui: Finalized the dimensions of the antenna range based on the constraints given by the sponsor.
Jiahao Fu: Studied the Marlin firmware for position control.
Yingqiao Jiang: Be able to control the liquid cooling system with a thermistor and a relay.
Yue Wen: Finalized the design of the gantry system and the antenna holder. Study the position control for the stepper motor based on Marlin firmware.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Han Cui: Begin fabricating and assembling the antenna range frame
Jiahao Fu: Fabricate the frame and the gantry system. Test the RAMPS 1.6 board with open-source code.
Yingqiao Jiang: Set the thermistor to an appropriate temperature and test the relay with cooler to control of the liquid cooler based on the set temperature.
Yue Wen: Start to manufacture the new gantry system for prototyping. Continue to study for the position control.
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (5/10 In Person)
We should now fix to a design goal and finalize the overall design size.
The testing frame could be shorter.
500mm height requirement should no longer be considered.
With this requirement being dropped, it would be ideal to maintain the device under 18kg (40lb).
The fiberglass rod seems strong enough.
Try to test the gantry system as soon as possible.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (5/6 In Person)
We should practice before the presentation and not using repeating the slides.
There are some formatting problems with the report.
Present tense should be used instead of the future tense.
For the gantry system design, the tolerance during manufacturing process should be considered.
