Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Nebulizer received and fabrication of prototype 1 has started
Arduino code and configuration are being workshopped to include a push button to actuate the valve
2 team members added: Gaoge and Dingran
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Air tube, tee, and fittings purchased for prototype 1
Nebulizer ordered and shipped
A successful test of solenoid valve controlled by Arduino
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Have the Nebulizer fully functional - Donghyun, Ziliang, Gaoge, Dingran
Complete sections of the final report - Mandy, Emilee
Gain access to high speed camera - Team
Test nebulizer with camera - Team
Finalize Arduino code - Donghyun
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
In person: There were no updates on the nebulizer shipment which was ordered through the Sponsor's department so the Sponsor asked the team to let him know sooner if we experience a delay.
The team will contact the sponsor in the future if there are no updates for longer than 3 days
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
In person: Need a way to accurately measure droplet size with clear criteria for success or failure
We are in pursuit of a high speed camera to measure the droplets and spray pattern. We have talked to Wayne Neilson from the Nanoengineering lab in SME who knew of a micron scale high speed camera in Dr. Vecchio's lab.
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
No comments from other students
Risks and Areas of Concern
We still do not have access to a high speed camera, so we will have to use the less accurate route with the AmScope if there is no alternative
Resources or Information Required but not Available
High Speed camera availablilty in the MAE department
