Current Design Summary
By now, our group has refocused our project from designing a breathalyzer
for pathogen detection to designing a cough simulator which simulate human
cough, based on the fact that designing a breathalyzer requires a
foundation of biology theories which is lacked. After working, our group
has successfully designed the first prototype. The prototype contains a
nebulizer which produces droplets that are similar to human cough. The
droplet size is certificated to a required size by microscope. The
nebulizer is connected to a T-shaped tube which has one end that connect
to pressure and one end that works as output. Our next step is to design a
better T-shaped tube by 3D printer to protect pathogens and reserve
droplet. The another goal is to fix the end that provides required
pressure to produce air flow that has same velocity to human cough. Theses
two goals are approximated to be finished within two weeks to achieve the
final design.
