Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Tree Stress design has been simplified after a calculated removal of the RJ11 port (after talk with sponsor)
The overall designs can be shrunken down even further to reduce the probability of striking the housing
Jet Lag glasses are in the midst of testing and finishing touches on the design. The CAD will now be updated to reflect internal spacing for the PCB, LED, button, batteries, and wiring.
LEDs have been specified and chosen
Accomplishments from Previous Week
added volumes to CAD?
Improved aesthetics of CAD?
Designed a potential hinge solution
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Develop proper CAD assemblies for jet lag glasses (as much as possible and with as much detail as possible) to show how entirety of glasses come together
After conferring with Mark, Bruce Allison (Tree Stress Sponsor) will reply with an answer to the new and revamped design for the tree stress wave timer; at which point, Tree Stress team can proceed to redesign housing to encompass the new PCB
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
don't slow progress for lens evaluation (4/8, teleconference)-- stopped allocating time for lens evaluation
Tree Stress: New design is under consideration and RJ11 may be swapped for a sleeker and more modern communications jack (4/12)
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Make it harder to hit treestress housing (4/7, presentation)-- increased draft, evaluating removal of RJ11 for 3.5mm jack, or micro USB
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Increase length of screw(4/7, presentation)--
Risks and Areas of Concern
Hinges
Impact area of tree housing
Glasses assembly; are the pieces going to be snap-fitted or glued together?
Material longevity; will circuit generate too much heat for material to handle?
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Under consideration: RJ11 port
Battery for Jet lag glasses have not been specified yet
Schedule
Tree Stress force analysis phase will end next Monday (April 18th)
Jet Lag CAD will proceed onwards, designing each component piece by piece and with more detail and specification
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
