Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Due to the Individual Component Analysis assignment, team members have split off to perform individual research and fabrication. Some members are creating CAD designs for the tree stress housing whereas another member is creating frame designs for the Jet Lag glasses. Other members are researching lens capabilities and light diffusion for the glasses.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Further refined our tasks and work breakdown structure; we realized that task groups for individual projects are more useful and productive than doing both projects simultaneously.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Individual component analysis should be complete
CAD designs for tree stress housing and frames have been drafted
Tree stress project should be near its completion (design and fabrication phase complete)
Jet Lag glasses should be in the middle of its design and fabrication phase (R&D)
Create a presentation for class next Thursday with achieved deliverables
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Tree Stress sponsor was receptive to our Risk Reduction presentation and wants to address operation manual and instructions for production purposes. (156A Finals week)
Arranging meetings to demonstrate completed housing
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Instructors approved of Risk Reduction charts and WBS, now the team needs to dive into specified goals for both projects.
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
From the Risk Reduction Presentation, any 3D printing for rapid prototyping has to be done with caution on certain printers because materials like ABS shrink after printing.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Lens research may prove unfruitful since we are taking a slightly different approach than last year's group
Resources or Information Required but not Available
We need to develop a method of testing photoreceptivity for the lens; requires a code and a simple setup to measure light.
Schedule
Individual Component Analysis complete by Friday (@midnight)
Photo resistor setup is completed by next week so that we can start testing different lenses
Tree stress CAD and fabrication done by next weekend
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
$10 spent for Jet Lag Glasses
$0 spent on Tree Stress
Progress on Report and Webpage
Webpage is still too undeveloped to our liking but we are slowly adding more material and content to the page as we come across it.
