Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

• • Risk reduction test scheduled for Tuesday April 12th at Fiesta Island

  • The new blade prototype has been fabricated

  • Flat bottom will be added to test sled for risk reduction test

  • Water jet will be mounted in front of blade

  • Cheek plates will be mounted to front tow shackle to deflect obstacles

• • Met with sponsor and discussed about the new design and the next risk reduction test

  • Fabricated prototype plow blade

  • Met with Greg Specht about blade design and water jet orientation

  • Designs completed for final sled

  • Order materials/start fabrication of steel blade (Joe)

  • Order materials/ start fabrication for reel to trough system (Paulina)

  • Improve the reel tensioned brake design and focus on adding more resistance to the reel flange (Hanh)

• • Use a rachet to control the cable feeding rate instead of a tensioned brushed brake

    • A rachet can stop the reel spinning backward, but it doesn’t add resistance to stop the reel from winding up (when it spinning forward too fast)
