Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Stirring Stage - Parts (aluminum sheets, guide rails/carriages, bearings) ordered and acquired.
Start of fabrication of stirring base
Bioreactor- Pumps, bulkhead fittings, and sealants ordered. Should be here by tomorrow (2.10.12) or the beginning of next week.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Stirring Stage - Sponsor gave approval of design and materials to order parts and begin construction of prototype.
Bioreactor- Final design was decided upon. Majority of components ordered.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Stirring Stage - Have prototype done and ready to test.
Bioreactor- Have prototype ready for testing. Also, pick up beads from Vince for better testing model.
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Bioreactor- Initial idea was not approved as a deliverable concept. Suggestions were taken under consideration and the bioreactor was redesigned to their specifications.
Stirring Stage - Sponsor approved of design and awaiting prototype to be completed.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Bioreactor- research was done into as 10993 silicone sealants, and it looks to be a better option than the as 10993 epoxies.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Bioreactor- if the silicone sealant will hold the fittings and provide an aseptic container.
Stirring Stage - Avoid damaging/repurchasing linear rails during fabrication/rotation of stirring stage. Avoid stress on motor and ensure motor will run for long durations under tests.
