SPI
Safety Performance IndicatorThe SPIs have been grouped into two main categories:
Outcome-oriented [operational SPI]: deriving from measurement of events that could be the precursors of "undesired events" (accidents or serious incidents). Normally these SPIs are measured on the basis of mandatory reports (MOR’s) received.
These indicators have been chosen by taking into account types of events which are particularly relevant in all civil aviation domains, such as Aerodrome, Air Traffic Control, Airworthiness, Operations and UAS.
Note: statistics are based on number of occurrences instead of number of reports received.
Process-oriented [systemic SPI]: deriving from the most typical processes of Civil Aviation Authority.
These SPIs aim at measuring the effectiveness of the activities that ENAC has put in place in order to ensure the highest possible level of safety of the aeronautical operations.
For this reason, these two types of SPIs have been divided into two different tables, where a brief description, the data source for its measurement and (if any) the connection to the relevant action within the SSP - Italy are shown for each indicator.
