Ms. Asiya
Primary Counselor
KG1 - Year 6
As the counselor at EMS Doha, I embrace a holistic counseling model that places the well-being of students at the heart of everything I do. This model is built on four interconnected pillars: Personalized Support, Differentiated Collaboration, Family Engagement, and Well-being Monitoring—each working together to support the whole child. Through one-on-one counseling tailored to individual needs, collaborative planning with teachers, proactive communication with families, and consistent observation of student well-being, we create a safe, responsive, and inclusive school environment where every learner can thrive.

As we come to the end of this school year, it's the perfect time to take a big, proud look back at how much we've grown—not just in what we've learned in class, but in who we've become as people.
This year, our students have made incredible progress in their social and emotional journey. They have learned to:
🧠 Recognize their emotions and name their feelings with confidence.
🗣️ Use their words to solve problems instead of reacting with frustration.
💬 Listen to others, take turns, and show empathy when someone is having a hard day.
🫶 Offer kindness, stand up for what’s right, and include others who felt left out.
🎯 Bounce back after making mistakes, trying again with courage and a growth mindset.
These moments of growth may not be written in report cards—but they are just as important.
Every emotion managed, every friendship repaired, every small act of kindness and responsibility taken... these are quiet victories that shape strong, compassionate individuals.
💖 We are so proud of the heart, resilience, and maturity our students have shown.
Let’s carry these life lessons into the summer and beyond.
Because no matter where they go, they’ll always have the strength, the tools, and the kindness they discovered this year.
Look how far we’ve come—together. 🌱✨
As we come to the end of this memorable school year, let’s take a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate just how much our students have grown—not only academically, but socially, emotionally, and as members of our school community.
At CLA, we believe in shaping learners who are Confident, Responsible, Innovative, Engaged, and Reflective. And this year, our students have truly brought those values to life:
CONFIDENT
Our students spoke up about their feelings, shared ideas in class, and tackled challenges with courage. They stood tall in assemblies, asked questions, and believed in themselves even when things felt difficult.
RESPONSIBLE
From managing their time and belongings to helping others in need, students showed what it means to be dependable. They learned to own their actions and make choices that show care for themselves and others.
INNOVATIVE
Whether solving problems in new ways or thinking creatively during class projects, our learners demonstrated curiosity and flexible thinking. They were not afraid to try new things and learn from their experiences.
ENGAGED
Students took part with heart and enthusiasm—in lessons, activities, and everyday moments. Their energy, involvement, and eagerness to participate helped create a vibrant, supportive school community.
REFLECTIVE
They learned to pause, look inward, and grow from their experiences. From journaling about their feelings to setting goals and learning from mistakes, our students practiced self-awareness and embraced personal growth.
These are the moments we’re most proud of. Every effort, every act of kindness, every choice to try again—they all add up to something powerful:
A generation of learners who care, who think, and who lead with heart.
Let’s carry these values with us into summer and beyond. Because this is only the beginning.
Look how far we’ve come—together. ✨
As part of Mental Health Week at EMS Doha, we celebrated Green Day with a special focus on student well-being and kindness. Green, the color of mental health awareness, represents hope, healing, and growth. The day was dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where every student felt seen, heard, and valued. Through engaging activities and meaningful conversations, learners were encouraged to express their emotions, show kindness, and celebrate each other’s differences. Green Day served as a powerful reminder of the importance of nurturing not just academic success, but emotional and social well-being for all.
Our approach to supporting student well-being, emphasizing the vital collaboration between the school, teachers, and parents. At EMS, we believe that student success—both emotionally and academically—thrives in a connected and inclusive environment. Through consistent communication, shared responsibility, and a strong focus on mental health and counseling, we ensure that every student feels supported, valued, and empowered. This partnership-driven model allows us to address students’ needs holistically and promote a positive, nurturing school experience.
The Holistic Counseling Model is a student-centered framework designed to nurture every aspect of a learner’s well-being by integrating four key components: Personalized Support, Differentiated Collaboration, Family Engagement, and Well-being Monitoring. At its core, the model emphasizes one-on-one counseling tailored to each student’s unique needs, ensuring targeted and meaningful support. Collaboration with teachers is essential for adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, fostering inclusive and responsive educational environments. Regular and open communication with families helps build trust and reinforces consistent support between home and school. Finally, continuous well-being monitoring allows counselors to observe, assess, and proactively intervene when necessary, ensuring students receive timely and effective care. Together, these interconnected elements create a comprehensive system that promotes emotional, academic, and social growth.
At EMS Doha, talented learners are regularly celebrated during our weekly assemblies, where they confidently showcase their unique skills and passions. From guitar and piano performances to singing, sports demonstrations, and gymnastics routines, these assemblies provide a platform for students to shine beyond the classroom. These moments not only highlight their dedication and creativity but also build confidence and school spirit. With parents invited to attend, the assemblies create a meaningful opportunity for families to witness and appreciate their children’s progress, reinforcing the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded, confident individuals.
Sometimes we all need a little break from noise and busy things. Try to:
Sit quietly and take 5 deep breaths like you're blowing bubbles.
Listen to calming music or nature sounds.
Color, draw, or doodle your thoughts and feelings.
💡 Quiet time helps your brain feel rested and peaceful.
Your body loves to move! It helps you feel strong and happy.
Dance to your favorite song.
Play outside—run, skip, ride your bike or play catch.
Stretch like a cat when you wake up!
💡 Exercise helps you get rid of extra energy and feel great inside!
Food gives your body the fuel it needs.
Try to eat fruits, veggies, and drink lots of water.
Make a fun snack like fruit salad or smoothies.
Avoid too many sugary snacks—they can make you feel tired later.
💡 Healthy food = healthy brain and happy tummy!
Even during summer, we can feel sad, angry, or bored—and that’s okay!
Talk to a parent, friend, or older sibling if you feel upset.
Use a "feelings chart" to show how you feel.
Write or draw in a summer feelings journal.
💡 Talking about your feelings makes your heart feel lighter.
You deserve to feel happy and have fun!
Try something new—baking, painting, gardening, or building.
Read a funny book or tell jokes.
Make a “Summer Fun List” with your family.
💡 Doing things you love helps your heart feel full!
Screens are fun, but too much time can make us feel sleepy or cranky.
Have "no screen" time each day to play, read, or explore.
Use screens to learn something new like how to draw or make crafts.
💡 Too much screen time can make your brain tired—balance is best!
You're doing your best—and that’s enough!
Say kind things to yourself like “I am brave,” or “I’m a good friend.”
Don’t worry if you make a mistake—just try again.
Remember, no one is perfect, and that’s okay!
💡 Being your own best friend is the BEST self-care of all!
As we reach the end of the school year, I want to pause and say a BIG, warm thank you to each and every one of you.
🌟 Thank you for showing up as YOU—exactly as you are.
Whether you were the quiet thinker, the creative artist, the helpful friend, the energetic leader, the great listener, or the brave one who tried again and again… you mattered this year.
🫶 Every smile, every kind word, every time you asked for help, gave a hug, tried something new, or helped someone else feel included—it made our school a better place.
You each brought something special that no one else could bring.
And the best part? You did it just by being yourself.
💌 You are smart. You are kind. You are growing. You are enough.
And we’re so proud of everything you’ve done this year.
Let’s carry all the love, courage, kindness, and confidence into the summer—and into the next year.
Thank you for being YOU. The world is better because you're in it. 💖
Before we close the chapter on this school year, I want to pass something special along…
💡 Wisdom, kindness, and encouragement from this year’s students to those who will walk these halls next.
Our students have learned so much—not just from books and lessons, but from their own experiences of growing, adjusting, and trying again.
Here are some beautiful and honest messages they wanted to share with next year’s class:
📣 "Don’t be afraid to ask your teacher if you don’t understand. They really want to help!"
📣 "Make friends with people who are kind to you, not just the ones who are popular."
📣 "It’s okay to make mistakes—that’s how you learn!"
📣 "Try your best, but don’t be hard on yourself if things don’t go perfect."
📣 "Join in even if you feel shy. You’ll be glad you did!"
📣 "If you ever feel sad or scared, talk to someone. You’re never alone."
📣 "Pack an extra snack!"
📣 "You’re going to do great. Believe in yourself!"
