Art Statement
Exploring combination of multi-medium is what I’m passionate about, especially geometric form and clean shapes that interact with space. My interest in architectural form began in my freshman year when I was taking a drawing course that included the use of a ruler. The dense, tight feeling of perception, clean shapes, with clarity and openness of forms have expanded my visual understanding of space and mass.
I use a variety of media, including photography, to explore light, shadow, and the sense of space. I have been playing with different mediums. I’ve used materials such as clay, plaster, and fabrics to further research a variety of combinations of mediums. Noticing details of the environment, weather, and light through a window has made me more considerate of the contemporary role of art and architecture.
As a rising new technology over the last ten years, 3D printing has been applied to the construction industry more and more widely. My architecture model focuses primarily on digital and 3D modeling. On top of their equivalent hardness and anti-seismic performance to traditional buildings, such buildings also feature diverse styles and shorter construction periods, which saves labor power, reduces the risk of personal accidents, and promotes the global idea of environmental protection and low-carbon life.
