As students begin to come back to school, we'll need our daily schedule to begin to match the new rhythms of being in school while also being suitable for remote learning. With many kids still working remotely, the length of periods remains 45 minutes and that there are still 15 minute breaks between classes to get up from the computer and move around a bit. These transitions will also give us time practice our protocols for moving from class to class.
However, as students come back to campus, we want to begin to transition towards what the in-school day will look like. We'll begin a 3 day cycle. Classes will meet 2 of 3 days rather than every other day. There's a bit more synchronous class time. Our ends of the day become constant.
You'll see that in the schedule there are 2 lunch periods. Students will be assigned one of these two periods to eat lunch, and often they will attend their elective during the other lunch block. This will help us reduce contact during a part of the day when staying distant is most important.
