At USN, learning is a matter of togetherness. Though the way we are coming together will change, it is up to all of us to keep our academic culture founded in mutual work and joy in learning.
The classroom is sure to feel different. Desks will be arranged in order to keep physical distancing between us, and we will be wearing masks. Seating charts will be used to help in the event of a need to contact trace. While collaboration, active learning, and student participation will still remain the activities that guide learning in the classroom, the architecture of the space won't make these things easy. Still, we are working hard to give you tools that will allow you to work well with your peers and for teachers to guide your learning so that our academic culture stays vibrant and student-centered.
There is a good chance that more students will be absent in this period for a variety of reasons, and you may find yourself learning from home. We awaiting our Owls (360 degree smart video-speakers) to allow you to observe class even when you are away. Teachers will also continue posting work in 2-week chunks on course pages so that you'll have an idea of what's coming.
Despite these differences, let's commit to being present to each other and do the work of learning alongside each other.
